The Meridian Magazine is an online publication allowing students to share stories from all corners of the globe.
Originally, the WordPress website was extremely slow to load and contained many issues such as poor accessibility and responsiveness.
I was fortunate enough to be chosen as the web developer for the site and suggested redeveloping the site from scratch.
After doing some research to WordPress alternatives, I discovered Ghost - a publishing platform built on a modern Node.js technology stack.
I setup an instance of Ghost on DigitalOcean, made many changes to the theme and then migrated all of the posts and staff over.
Then it was just a matter of changing the domain DNS settings and the site was live!
The feedback on the new site has been incredible from both users and staff. It now attracts over 10,000 unique visitors a month.
